POSITION SUMMARY - Performs calibration, troubleshooting, repair, justification, modification, installation and maintenance of complex instrumentation and control systems.


  • Write, implement, and troubleshoot PLC code on new and existing equipment
  • Participate and coach others to maintain power and controls equipment
  • Lead improvement projects and plant control upgrades
  • Ability to operate high speed making, packing, and other production related equipment
  • Make personal safety and safe operations a priority
  • Maintain a clean work area and utilize Good Manufacturing Practices by following all quality specifications and performing quality inspections
  • Know and use terminology and functions of machine components
  • Quickly and effectively trouble shoot and repair plant equipment
  • Develop and update electrical schematics for systems using AutoCAD
  • Effectively coordinate sub-contractors performing technical work
  • Help by being on or leading SQMS pillar teams
  • Lead the maintenance techs on the same shift as they work
  • Participate in all required shift meetings. 6:10 - 6:30 shift change meeting and 8:30 DDS meetings
  • Be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift and be able to work overtime when required by business needs
  • Other duties as required, in order to meet business needs

  • Two-year technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Three years&##39; experience supporting machine control systems preferred
  • Solid understanding of Rockwell PLC hardware, PLC programming, VFDs, and HMI
  • Solid understanding of servos, encoders, linear actuators, pneumatic equipment, and sensors
  • Must be able to read and write English


  • Strong ability to access and comprehend technical manuals via the internet, and interact with external technical resources while addressing problems

  • Able to climb ladders and perform tasks on a ladder or at heights
  • Ability to operate powered equipment (Fork Trucks / Scissor Lifts)
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
  • Push / Pull up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather
  • Able to walk and stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time
