General Purpose:

  • Review procedures, specifications, work instructions, and batch records for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and regulatory compliance.
  • Administer and support programs required to ensure certification and continued registration to SQF standards. Provide support in administration of plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), SAP compliance, and hold programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide finished product releases based on DFA and state regulatory requirements
  • Process, hold and release disposition in SAP based on management direction. Verify dispositions are carried and holds are properly completed and documented
  • Perform Document Records, Control & Retention activities
    • Review production and maintenance records related to Food Safety & Quality and laboratory records for completeness and accuracy in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
    • File and maintain batch production and control records related to Food Safety and Quality
    • Maintain and update plant SOP&##39;s and work instructions as needed and submit through the document approval process
    • Maintain SQF binder, Plant Master SOP binder, and related document registers. Ensure that end-users in the plant are using current versions consistently
    • Ensure the integrity of specifications in SAP and data uploaded into the system through regular systems checks
  • Lead and/or participate in the plant internal audit program (or walk-throughs)
  • Prepare, consolidate, and trend relevant Food Safety & Quality KPI&##39;s (example: OOS, GMP walk through results, Pest Control Data, and others) for management reporting
  • Be a liaison to continuous improvement, which may require sharing of records for plant improvement
  • Maintain SAP and train all technicians or business partners in entering or completing SAP information including generation of COA&##39;s
  • Provide laboratory oversight for in-process and finished product
  • Perform basic laboratory technician responsibilities, as needed
  • Maintain corporate, SQF certification and regulatory compliance
    • Maintain the integrity of the files in the shared drive, particularly those related to corporate, SQF and regulatory requirements
  • Adhere and monitor compliance to all DFA Food Safety, Quality and GMP policies and report non-conformances to the QA Manager
  • Perform training activities
    • Ensure that Food Safety & Quality related training is scheduled, conducted, and documented
    • Conduct training as needed and assist in assessing training effectiveness
  • Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as when they arrived
  • Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America honesty, discretion and sound judgement
  • Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and SQF
  • Serve as the plant complaint coordinator and respond to complaints, with guidance from the QA Manager
