Provide leadership and support to manage the work activities of the Southeast Area (SEA) dispatch team. Responsible for developing and growing professional relationships customers, haulers, and other DFA Fluid Area counterparts. Work on communication with all other SEA department managers and staff on dispatch or hauling related matters. Offer analytical support for the Southeast management staff as required.

Direct, coach, counsel, motivate and evaluate the performance of SEA dispatchers on a regular basis relying heavily on first-hand observation to ensure that their actions reflect and support DFA values and goals.

Work to ensure that dispatchers consistently provide high quality service to customers, haulers and staff

Work with SEA dispatch department to learn all aspects of scheduling milk farm-to-market dispatching. Daily functions include communication with customers and haulers regarding milk deliveries, maintaining customer and hauler records

Develop an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of SAP and eventually Dairy.com - scheduling, quality, hauling, and all other transactions applicable

Prepare weekly and monthly reports for production, sales, hauling as well as Uniform Receiving Credits (URC’s)

Gain an understanding of the fluctuations in milk supply and sales on a daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal and annual basis

Assist all departments involved with rejected loads including but not limited to disposition of milk; notification to CLS lab, Field Reps and Area Managers; fill out all paperwork including Load Liability, assisting accounting with the all details needed

Understand, analyze, and resolve issues surrounding the production and transportation of milk. Provide feedback on opportunities and approaches to drive improvements and efficiencies

Track and approve Kronos activities: timecard approval, scheduling exceptions, time off approval and review for appropriate staffing levels

Review and approve monthly expense reports ensuring corporate adherence to company policy

Coordinate all department activities which enable the SEA to maximize its pooling and diversion opportunities in conjunction with the accounting team

Coordinate the interactions of the SEA dispatch team and hauling manager to optimize efficiencies and minimize customer and hauler complaints. Includes balancing supply and milk movements to and from other DFA Areas as well as outside suppliers

Lead special project initiatives as assigned while delegating duties as necessary to drive success within the department (i.e. Dairy.com dispatch conversion project)

Conduct annual performance review process and give guidance on goals and objectives for the SEA dispatch team

On call availability for any dispatch issues nights, weekends, and holidays
