General Summary:

The primary responsibilities of this role will include leading the development and execution of optimized supply chain solutions to deliver business strategies, priorities, and liaise with cross-functional partners including Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, Capacity, Materials, Contract Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Customer Logistics, and Procurement. In addition, the successful candidate will conduct monthly end-to-end Executive Supply Review and will provide input into AOP, which is a critical step in the monthly and annual executive IBP (Integrated Business Planning) process. Having the ability to influence which will enable business decisions to maximize corporate goals inclusive of highlighting trade-offs and provide additional options for consideration is required in this role. Also being able to develop strong recommendations based on feasibility, manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, customer service, inventory, and cost is required.

This role will lead the Supply Chain Planning teams (Supply/Capacity/Scheduling/Materials) processes and will be responsible for the strategic/network direction, including thought leadership for maximizing product supply and availability, while continuously improving the foundational planning process to deliver best in class planning fundamentals, systems strategies, and advanced inventory optimization techniques.This role will include developing optimal end to end plans to balance service, cost, and inventory with Demand R&O&##39;s.

Key management responsibilities include:

  • Network production and materials planning to ensure short-term supply meets demand,

  • Resolution of day-to-day challenges related to demand and supply imbalances

  • Internal & External capacity planning (12-24 month horizon)

  • Inventory management, and supply exception management for both internal and external manufacturing facilities impacting the Meals & Beverage Division.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and delivery of optimized supply chain solutions to meet business needs, including alignment for Supply Chain initiatives to deliver the M&B 3-year growth strategy and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including developing and documenting robust Supply planning assumptions integral to AOP. Conducts monthly Executive Supply Reviews, which are a critical input to the Executive IBP forums. Engage in decision making meetings created by Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Integrated Tactical Planning.

  • Manage complex relationships across the organization and create direction by positively influencing others to achieve results that are aligned with the business and supply chain strategies.

  • Leads cross functional teams with key partners in Supply Chain including manufacturing facilities, Engineering, Capacity, Contract Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Customer Logistics, Finance, Commercialization and Procurement to ensure end to end supply solutions are viable.

  • Drives the execution of Supply plans working cross functionally to deliver customer service targets, increase product availability, and optimizing working capital.

  • Ensures that supply plans and co-man capacity plans are developed to accurately reflect the supply and network constraints.

  • Drives the communications strategies with Customer Supply Chain and Supply Chain leadership highlighting supply disruption, supply tradeoffs, variances to customer service targets, issue root cause analysis and crisis management including developing materials for weekly Integrated Tactical Planning meetings.

  • Manages strategic plans to optimize new item introductions, transitions and product discontinuances.

  • Provides leadership and builds best practices to elevate team capability as it relates to the utilization of and expertise in all planning tools, including but not limited to SAP and Envision to ensuring world class excellence in planning and ensuring that there is effective "lessons learned discipline for process improvement.

Complexity and Scope:

  • Responsible for the Meals & Beverage Division 3 Business Units ($4.4B GS) - US Retail, Canada, NAFS (North America Food Service), as well as support of International needs; inclusive of a highly complex network, 4 manufacturing plants, 25 co-man partners

  • Manages Finished Goods average inventory plans in excess of $400MM

  • Manages Finished Goods average production plans in excess of 2800MM Cases

  • Understand complex business situations, translates the impact of Demand Scenarios to capacity, supply, and materials plans and communicates risks and opportunities.

  • Must be able to address planning/forecasting related issues that the manufacturing facilities or stakeholders bring forward to solve problems and determine the best course of action.

  • This position takes a leadership role in setting strategies across functional teams to develop and manage product launch timelines and plant/re-packer capabilities to meet start ship dates.

  • Skilled in managing complex project initiatives and diverse cross-functional teams beyond Supply but including Demand Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing Operations, Commercialization, Quality, Warehouse, Transportation, and Customer Supply Chain

  • Deep understanding of the supply, capacity, and materials planning, planning strategies, systems, & processes how they impact the end-to-end supply chain.

  • Requires initiative to independently interpret business direction, understand business and capital constraints, and create alignment between the business and functions on priorities of initiatives.

  • Business acumen, finance and analytical skills.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • BA/BS in Logistics, Operations Management, Business or related technical field or equivalent experience in a similar role. MBA preferred.

  • 15 years in Supply Chain cross-functional roles, including planning, manufacturing, engineering, commercialization, and project management

  • General knowledge of the end-to-end Supply Chain including food manufacturing processes, co-manufacturing partners, planning and logistics, engineering of systems, R&D, commercialization, QA and food safety systems.

  • General understanding of PnL and total delivered cost and business planning.

  • High level of expertise in SAP planning and scheduling tools including APO required or demonstrated quick learning agility

  • APICS certification a plus
