The Director, Stock Yards Sales is responsible for the execution of Stock Yards national sales programs, defined strategies, and priorities in support of Stock Yards national sales. The Director is charged with maximizing account penetration and the implementation of sales strategies and tactics that drive sustained sales and margin growth. The position will be responsible for ensuring that the Territory Managers deploy against national and local account plans and showcase the Stock Yards value proposition specific to those accounts.


  • Select, develop and coach a high performing team of Territory Managers to meet or exceed targets of profitable revenue growth for each plant. Coordinate sales efforts by establishing and assigning sales responsibilities, and goals in line with the Stock Yards business goals. Identify opportunities to increase sales and margins in existing accounts and direct Plant Territory Managers toward areas of increased profitability. Responsible for executing product conversions, Stock Yards brand penetration and contract profit maximization to achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Own and manage the Stock Yards national account portfolio and responsibility for achieving required service level and annual sales plans. Manage multi-site bids, RFP&##39;s and customer requests.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our high value key customers.
  • Partner with US Foods National Sales & Service and Business Development teams to promote collaborative growth strategy including penetration of existing accounts with Stock Yards manufactured products and pursuit of new business leveraging COP capabilities.
  • Champion initiatives by being the voice of the customer (internal and external) and ensuring the Stock Yards organization remains customer focused. Lead and/or assist with assigned projects aligned with Stock Pounds growth, item description and assortment clean up and Return / Credit reduction.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or required to maintain and grow profitable business within the Stock Yards business.


Territory Managers


Education/Training :

Bachelor&##39;s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field or equivalent experience required.

Related Experience :

  • A minimum of 5 years of foodservice sales experience in (COP) Center of the Plate sales or sales management.
  • 2 years in supervisory experience in a contract-driven selling environment and in food-service industry or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience opening accounts greater than $500,000.
  • A consistent record of managing teams to exceed sales performance expectations and innate customer and people development skills.
  • Overnight travel may be required to participate in trainings, meetings, or other company events.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation ability. Strong customer orientation. High energy, creativity, leadership and motivational skills. Extensive knowledge of the foodservice industry and profit & loss management, planning and analysis. Should be familiar with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
