Description

About the Position:

The Director of Operations will oversee all manufacturing activities in the organization including: Warehousing, Quality and Food Safety and Engineering departments. Ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.

The purpose of this role is to execute the manufacturing strategy, formulate and recommend policies and programming which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation. The role holder is responsible for implementing structures and systems to enable, maintain, and improve operational efficiencies, product improvements and productivity, to support the achievement of site performance targets through a focus on continuous improvement.

The Director of Operations will also be responsible for Profit and Loss statements, overall plant budget, and contributing to the Company s strategic plan and will ensure execution of that plan to the above assigned departments while focusing on profitability, productivity and efficiency. This role will also drive innovation and a positive corporate culture exemplifying food & employee safety.

This position will report directly to the CEO and will serve as a member of the Executive team.


Requirements

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor s Degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility in a growing company that involve organizational change management and small- and large-scale project management responsibilities.
  • Has held P&L responsibility within a manufacturing business and understands the link between operational KPI s and financial performance
  • Demonstrated organizational, project and budget management skills including the ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-term goals.
  • Strong experience running operations and manufacturing programs; production control, procurement, supply chain, materials, logistics, manufacturing engineering, facilities, product quality, and health and safety initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the food and beverage manufacturing industry
  • Excellent motivation and team building skills with demonstrable success in change leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proven track record of building strong relationships at all levels and ability to communicate appropriate expectations in relation to deliverables.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, task management, and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including process and organizational design.
  • Professional, strong work ethic, flexible, entrepreneurial, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple and diverse complex projects and tasks.
  • Understanding of safety procedures including: SQF, HACCP, and OSHA requirements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with financial, engineering design, project management, and similar software systems.
