The Digital Marketing Operations Manager manages and drives digital strategy collaboration through cross functional partners, to bring digital marketing campaigns to life. They oversee the strategic planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns targeting 200,000 customers. Additionally, the Manager is an expert in digital best practices and industry trends and are passionate about using data to inform decisions. They guide the enterprise and stakeholders in relevant strategy, journeying, calls to action, channel utilization and other campaign elements. They use data and metrics to champion continuous improvement and evolution.

The Digital Operations Manager is part of the Marketing Operations team and reports to the Senior Manager of Marketing Operations. They oversee two direct reports and are responsible for managing all requests, resources, priorities, toolsets, output and metrics for US Foods digital marketing channels. They will drive continuous improvement in operations, efficiency, and digital evolution.

The work is a combination of onsite at our Rosemont, IL offices and remote as defined by the role segmentation.

  • Act as strategy leader for digital marketing campaigns; collaborating with cross-functional business owners/stakeholders throughout the organization to design digital campaigns to support strategic initiatives
  • Responsible and accountable for the planning and execution of all digital campaigns, impacting upwards of 200,000 Local and National customers. This is includes; management of complex, high impact projects and initiatives, resource capacity and assignment, addressing barriers and other problem solving. Ensure all campaigns are on track delivered on time
  • Continuously seek to optimize content, campaigns, processes, and metrics. Make recommendations for improvements and efficiency opportunities, leveraging data insights, research, and/or competitive assessments
  • Responsible for all digital campaign Performance Measurement. This includes compiling, executing, and distributing weekly reporting and monthly dashboards. Develop insights based on data and metrics and apply learnings to future campaigns
  • Responsible for administration and management of digital marketing project management tool, Workfront. Manage all incoming campaign requests. Review and convert incoming requests, assign resources, and track the project through to completion
  • Assert knowledge and expertise to digital marketing strategy, tactics and MarTech tools. This role should be up to date on developments in digital marketing, Marketing Technology, privacy laws and general digital rules & regulations
  • Define marketing value propositions, gain buy-in and support from stakeholders and develop relevant messaging and project plans through to execution, achieving desired results
  • Leverage strong understanding of marketing content and drive/influence customer purchasing decisions thru strategic marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrate good grasp of a non-linear customer journey and be able to identify opportunities for digital marketing and touchpoints
  • Demonstrated commitment to positive and enriching customer experiences. Employ a 'voice of customer' mindset to everything you do



• Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing or related field

Related Experience/Requirements:

• 5 years + in a similar or transferrable role; project co-ordination / digital marketing
• Prior people management experience strongly desired, with technology teams preferred
• Proficiency with marketing analytic tools like Tableau, Google Analytics, or Adobe Analytics highly preferred
• Demonstrate practical experience/understanding of project management software Workfront
• Strong knowledge of customer adoption funnels, lead generation, customer journeys, customer programs, targeted campaigns, customer attribution
• Experience with data segmentation and how to apply segmentation to identify target segments
• Experience in both product and service marketing


• Proven strong time management, ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines, pays attention to detail, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrates proactive approach to problem solving and constantly looks for ways to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the team
• Proven stakeholder management skills including the ability to work with and influence people
• Experience in planning and actioning projects
• Ability to manage team
• Can work as part of a team and independently
• Confidence in working in matrix structures
• Strong communication skills in all forms

Familiarity or experience with marketing management campaign tools such as Unica or Acoustic preferred but not required.
