DAMASCUS BAKERIES is a 3rd Generation Bakery with facilities in Brooklyn, New York and, now, Newark, New Jersey. Since 1930, we have supplied the Metro New York market with authentic Pitas, Flatbreads, Lahvash and (recently) Pizza Crusts. In past years, we have expanded our capacity and distribution to the National Market, supplying and partnering with many of America's top QSR's, Casual Dining Restuarants, Food Service Establishments, Retail, Club and Natural Stores, Institutions, Distributors, and other Bakeries. For many of our customers, we have been the Product Development arm that has created some of America's most successful and most nutritionally-responsible Pitas, Flatbreads, Wraps and Roll-Ups.
Earlier this year we began baking in our new 120,000 sq ft facility in Newark, New Jersey (about 1 mile from Newark airport). By mid-year our main offices will work from this site; by end of year, Newark will be our primary bakery and logistics hub. There is not a flatbread bakery in this country that houses a production line as flexible and sophisticated as the one we have installed.
We currently employ about 150 people.
