The account manager (AM) is responsible for the management of sales and relationships with assigned customers. Account managers serve as the interface between the customer service and the sales team in a company. They are assigned a company&##39;s existing client accounts.

The goal is to keep clients or accounts engaged and growing in sales. Tasks may involve project management, strategic planning, sales support, product delivery.

Account Manager Job Duties:

  1. Grow sales among existing client accounts, including upselling and cross-selling
  2. Identifies other opportunities to grow business with existing clients
  3. Operates as the primary point of contact for assigned customers
  4. Develops and maintains long-term relationships with accounts
  5. Communicates client needs and demands to employer company
  6. Makes sure clients receive requested products and services in a timely fashion
  7. Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner
  8. Forecasts and tracks client account metrics
  9. Manage projects within client relationships, working to carry out client goals while meeting company goals
  10. Coordinate with staff members working on the same account to ensure consistent service
  11. Keep records of client transactions

Account Manager Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Requires a bachelor&##39;s degree
  2. At least 5 years of experience in the sales and account management field
  3. Familiar with food retail and food manufacturing sales
  4. Familiar with Project management skills and all facets of selling, ordering, production and delivery of goods.
  5. Performs a variety of tasks.
  6. Lead and direct the work of others involved in customer relationship
  7. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  8. Goal-oriented, organized team player
  9. Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead
  10. Self-motivated and self-directed
  11. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  12. Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions
  13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person
  14. Basic computer skills, and experience with CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on superior Excel skills.
  15. Strong negotiation skills, with ability follow-through on client contracts

Compensation

Will be based on market average with commission generated on sales growth of assigned customers.
