The Corporate Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for developing, initiating, leading and driving plant continuous improvement projects from a corporate level. This includes process or business changes to reduce operating costs and overseeing project initiation, development, tracking and auditing. Responsible for supporting and/or facilitating key continuous improvement activities, in areas such as; waste reduction, cost savings, production efficiency, maintenance reliability, quality, safety, environmental, people development, business systems, business technology and business development initiatives.
- Works with Operations management, Maintenance, Finance, supervisors, hourly employees and other divisions to develop ideas for improvement and potential solutions.
- Works with Engineering to evaluate new technologies and processes.
- Facilitates capacity studies for future growth opportunities as dictated by business.
- Identifies and facilitates the implementation of process improvements and cost savings opportunities aligned with key business objects.
- Tracks and measures results of improvement initiatives.
- Acts as a change agent to identify and drive continuous improvement projects that realize cost savings for the organization.
- Performs and evaluates economic analyses on projects.
- Establishes and implements meaningful metrics to set yield, labor and supply standards; tracks and identifies gaps in performance; explains discrepancies and facilitates system solutions.
- Oversees project performance and ensures timely completion and achievement of goals.
- Maintains and updates plant capacity numbers and creates reports to measure yield and labor performance.
- Responsible for developing and leading projects to reduce negative variances.
- Implements strategic planning and execution using techniques such as, 4 Disciplines of Execution and SWOT Analysis.
- Coaches management in tactical execution of strategic plans.
- Completes special projects and provides relief supervision, as needed.

- Bachelor#39;s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years#39; relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- Minimum of 3+ years#39; experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required.
- Experience leading continuous improvement projects in manufacturing, maintenance or engineering.
- Knowledge of industrial engineering principles, required.
- Demonstrated ability to use Continuous Improvement methods to reduce costs and manage projects.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement continuous improvement plans, lean manufacturing initiatives, 5S, value stream mapping, statistical process control and six sigma to drive change.
- Formal lean manufacturing training, required.
- Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office Excel.
- Familiarity with SAP, preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, innovation and ability to operate autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may act as a lead by providing training and guidance to Plant Continuous Improvement Managers.
