Summary: We are seeking an innovative and experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to

drive our Food Manufacturing and Food Packaging production improvement processes and training. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing our current production practices and processes and identify areas that need improvement. You will lead efforts to implement changes and train staff to increase effectiveness, efficiency and reduce costs. You will collaborate regularly with our production and QA managers to ensure measurable results, documenting each phase of the changes, and reporting improvements to senior leadership.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive innovation strategy and process/framework to drive profitable revenue while maintaining our artisan manufacturing reputation and mass customization core competency.
  • Responsible for all continuous improvement activities and efforts within the facility and for increasing effectiveness, efficiencies, reducing waste and expenses.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Plant leadership to prioritize all KPIs to create a constantly evolving master plan for efficiency and/or effectiveness improvements and waste reduction.
  • Work with plant operations staff to introduce continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events, value mapping, and various other tools used for improvement.
  • Build and develop individual KPI leaders and experts among the operations staff to foster a culture of TQM that enables additional improvement opportunities.
  • Occasionally function as a project manager for major and minor projects throughout the company to support the project manager and continue developing technical knowledge.
  • Influence a CI approach throughout the company; train on CI fundamentals to empower our team and plant to scale.
  • Install and drive a metric oriented culture company wide
  • Support operations in any capacity available, being flexible, within a constantly changing production landscape to maximize resources.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field required.

Experience:

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement experience required.
  • Previous Food Manufacturing/Production experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in production continuous improvement activities, including running Kaizen events, leading lean activities, and implementing lean and CI principles Six Sigma Certification (preferred)
  • Experience developing employee training programs
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office and ERP software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
