  • Grain-based manufacturer with total annual revenues of $1B, producing a variety of cookies, crackers and snacks for major national and regional grocery chains.

Mission:

  • Lead the total coordination for a greenfield plant construction project and the start-up of its business unit, delivering on time and on budget. Join the team during the design phase of the project and remain through its engineering, construction, installation, start-up and resource release phase.
  • This assignment is estimated to last approximately 2 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Define overall project scope, plans, timeline, budget, deliverables, resources and communications for its successful execution. Take ownership for overall project risk assessment and mitigation activities, with the necessary team members on identification, mitigation, tracking, escalation and communication.
  • Define and implement project governance system and reporting, coordinating meetings, preparing documentation pre and post meeting and communication.
  • Facilitate and liaison between different working teams and suppliers fostering collaboration and communication to solve problems and execute with excellence.
  • Ensure CAPEX projects follow company standards and procedures (standard equipment, best practices, standard components and spare parts, digitalization, VSU)
  • Works closely with Strategic Projects Director, General Contractor, R&D Managers, Engineering Managers, P&O Manager, Plant Manager, Finance Manager, Procurement Manager.

Qualifications:

  • BSE
  • 5+ years’ experience as a project manager for greenfield plant construction preferably on food plants. Experience in an engineering execution role.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Previous experience implementing complex CAPEX investments.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulations, compliance, legal and governance requirements.
  • Proficient in technical software.
  • Spanish language ideal.
  • Knowledge areas to be acquired: Company model, organizational charts and reporting relationships, client agreements, project business plan, project scope and definition work done to date, company project management model, R&D development process and critical aspects, operations model, vertical start-up, engineering and construction details and timeline, SAP (supplier management, invoicing, payment, new supplier setup, reporting), P&L model.
