The Candy Alliance LLC was formed in the year 2000. "To establish lawful arrangements to enhance competition in the candy industry, especially with large candy manufacturers, by, among other ways, increasing placement and distribution of Members’ products and lowering their costs, thereby enabling them to lower prices, raise output and give consumers wider choices." All the members are of similar size, have common goals and have found synergies that will enable members to ‘build a better business’ and compete in the crowded market place of confections and snacks. Each member is a stand alone entity that operates independently of other members.

SweetWorks, Inc. originally began as Niagara Chocolates. Niagara Chocolates has been a family owned and operated candy manufacturer since 1956. Our manufacturing facilities, located in Buffalo, New York, make superb quality confections that are shipped throughout the country and worldwide.
In 1998, Niagara Chocolates acquired Oak Leaf Confections located in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. The Oak Leaf Confections facility is 148,000 sq. ft. and employs approximately 240 full-time people. Oak Leaf Confections manufactures ball gum, tablet gum, pressed dextrose candy and jawbreakers.
In 2002, Niagara Chocolates acquired some unique brands and distinctive processing capabilities that effectively reach the national markets. Thus, SweetWorks, Inc. was established as the parent company. The nationally recognized brands acquired include the nostalgic candy coated chocolate Sixlets® and the dark chocolate covered sticks Ovation®. SweetWorks is a mid-sized company that is recognized by its consumers and customers as a leader among premium chocolate producers.
Travel The World Through Chocolate
Founded1998, Vosges Haut-Chocolat’s intriguing chocolate creations are made with the finest ingredients from around the world, sourced by owner and chocolatier Katrina Markoff. Vosges Haut-Chocolat and the concept of Travel the World through Chocolate were inspired by her journeys to create a luxury chocolate experience while bringing about awareness of the world’s cultures by fusing a gamut of indigenous spices, flowers, roots, herbs and liqueurs with premium chocolate.
The founding of Vosges Haut-Chocolat launched a global chocolate revolution. Nominated by Food & Wine Magazine as the chocolatier leading us into the next 30 years, Katrina is credited with igniting the chocolate industry with innovation—fusing high quality chocolat and exotic ingredients (such as bacon and spices) in avant-garde ways.
