Responsibilities: The Compensation Specialist provides compensation expertise and support to HR business partners and business leaders. This position is responsible for data analysis and insights regarding rewards and is the subject matter expert for talent systems. The incumbent assists in the implementation, management, and development of solutions to support Del Monte Foods Inc. programs including salary administration, job evaluations, market pricing, incentive plan, and other related rewards policies and programs. This position may work remotely or in our Walnut Creek, CA or Pittsburgh, PA offices.
* Consults with HR business partners on offer analysis and recommendations. Responsible for day-to-day application of compensation policies.
* Conducts job evaluations, audits jobs for content and may assist in developing job descriptions, determine FLSA exemption, and appropriate salary grade classifications using framework guide.
* Approves new title creation by assigning title, FLSA exemption status, and EEO classification, and collaborates with HRIS to maintain current job titles in HRIS and payroll systems.
* Responsible for participation in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive rewards information to determine company’s competitive position.
* Maintains membership with Food Industry Group (FIG), and obtains competitive information/ad hoc surveys when needed.
* Provides ad hoc analytics and administers the annual compensation processes such as the annual salary increase, incentive, and other rewards programs.
* Conducts training and information sessions in compensation processes.
* Formulates recommendations regarding development of company salary structure, job revisions and maintains career framework/structures.
* Reviews rewards programs, policies and practices and recommends changes where appropriate to ensure pay practices remain current and competitive.
* Point of contact for spot award programs, primary administration and support related tools.
* Partners with HRIS Systems to develop dashboard and ad hoc reports and to ensure accuracy of rewards reporting.
* Assists organization with career path development and position matching.
* Participates in projects as assigned, such as program redesign, job audits, and policy development.

* Hold ourselves and others accountable for commitments. Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent education required.
* Five or more years of experience as a compensation professional with knowledge of current compensation practices and trends including analysis and/or design of compensation plans and market analysis.
* Understanding of compensation discrimination legislation including Equal Pay Act, Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and Family Medical Leave Act. Experience in California a plus.
* Experience with designing and evaluation of compensation structures for an organization that employs a mix of seasonal, hourly, and salaried workforce across manufacturing plants, distribution centers and corporate locations.
* Ability to think logically and analytically to find alternatives to solutions when procedure and/or policy don’t dictate an immediate solution.
* Self-motivated, ability to multitask, practice time management, and prioritize workload in a deadline-driven environment.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel analysis and reports.
* Experience managing eligibility and set up in talent tools such as performance, focal and off cycle pay.
* Proficient in other Microsoft Office tools.
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work quickly and accurately to solve problems and meet regular deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of sensitive data. WE OFFER
