Job description – Copacker Manager

Responsibilities
• Act as company liaison to manage the relationship between Bang Energy and its copackers and be the point person for all communication (written, verbal and in person), particularly Bang Energy requirements and any changes to those requirements

• Responsible for conducting onsite facility audits at copackers (per 21 CFR 117 and other relevant regulatory guidelines) and document audit reports in a timely manner

• Report feedback, findings or non-conformances clearly and effectively to management team

• Follow-up with copackers on any corrective actions needed resulting form any observations made during audits

• Review policies and procedures at copackers to ensure they are compliant with brand product specifications, all Bang Energy requirements and regulatory guidelines and standards

• Oversee Quality Beverage Inspectors and manage onsite facility inspection program

• Oversee copacker qualification/requalification program – including active participation in supplier scorecard process

• Prepare audit schedule, using a risk-based assessment, and arrange travel plans to copacking facilities to organize visits efficiently and ideally during Bang production runs

• Collaborate with internal team members to assist communication regarding consumer complaint investigations, freight damage, out-of-specification investigations, material investigation reports, requested deviations, unexpected nonconformances, and issue product specification testing requirements to copackers (start-up trials, in-process data collection and finished product results reported)

• Review in-process data / line check sheets and copacker Certificate of Analysis and immediately address any issues identified (incorrect lot code, wrong Best By date, any

OOS results, etc.)

• Assist with supplier dealings of packaging components and raw ingredients as they pertain to copackers

Requirements

• Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in a science related field

• 5 years or more auditing experience in the Food/Beverage and/or Dietary Supplement industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Familiarity with FDA, 21CFR117, 21CFR111, and other third party auditing agencies

• Excellent communication skills to relay critical business expectations and requirements to copackers

• Attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks at once all while ensuring that quality and standards are met

• Must be fluent in English and have good computer skills

• Must be available and willing to travel

• Adaptable and quick to learn new processes and tools

• Has a “whatever it takes” attitude

• A track record of performance meeting targets and objectives

• Self-directed, goal-oriented and flexible, enjoying working in a fast-paced and at times challenging environment

• Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal)
