  • Qualifications/Experience:

    •   BS in Human Resources Management or related field

    •   3-5+ years of experience in HR leadership in a manufacturing setting

    •   Experience working in a Union environment/ collective bargaining

    •   Strong communication, organizational, managerial, platform, and analytical skills

    •   The ability to recognize problems/issues and develop effective solutions requires independent judgment/decision making within areas of responsibility

    •   Ability to develop creative solutions to non-routine problems, master new concepts quickly and




    •   Point of contact for employee relations inquires, determining proper channel for resolution, interpreting policy, and advocating for employees

    •   Subject Matter Expert for all key HR Tools, systems, and processes including HRIS, Learning Management System, and Compensation tools

    •   Collaborate with supervisors/managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues; guide decision-making process prepares/helps prepare corrective actions, facilitates involuntary terminations and communications.

    •   Understands and applies employment standards requirements/legislation for consistency, compliance, and efficiency within the organization.

    •   Provide employee relations support and coaching to Production Management employees with Human Resources best practices such as attendance, harassment investigations, recruitment, and other duties as required. Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.

    •   Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.

    •   Advise managers/supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the Company. Counsels managers/supervisors on employment issues.

    •   Establish and Maintain effective working relationships with (and between) managers, employees, and the multiple unions on-site

    •   Maintain relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.

    •   Promote and foster an environment of open communication and honest, candid feedback.

    •   Handles grievances, arbitrations and participate in collective agreement negotiation

    •   Ensures New Employee Progress reports and annual performance evaluations are completed and assist/coaches supervisors/managers when required

    •   Participate in employee coaching sessions

    •   Assist managers/supervisors with the preparation of employee development plans and ensure consistent monitoring of those plans
