  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.), Controls, or related discipline
  • 5+ Electrical Engineering experience dealing in Food & Beverage Manufacturing
  • Start-up and operation of A/C inverter and servo drives including Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa and Siemens.
  • Ethernet IP communications, power distribution equipment including sizing transformers, electrical feeders, and distribution gear for equipment loads from 120V up to 4160V.
  • Experience with Machine Vision Sensors and Systems.
  • Industrial Robots. (FANUC, Yaskawa)
  • Mitsubishi PLCs and GX-Developer software
  • LabVIEW software for testing, measurement & control.

Position Summary:

  • Proactive, analytical, and highly motivated Controls-Electrical Engineer to develop, design, and maintain electrical and control systems. Provide electrical engineering and controls support to achieve safety, quality and efficiency goals. Manages the entire scope of complex projects, ensuring that all project timelines, budgets, safety and quality requirements are met.

Controls and Electrical Engineering

  • Recommends equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance (safety, quality, productivity), simplify construction, reduce cost, and/or comply with changes in codes/regulations.
  • Produces electrical engineering documentation such as schematic drawings, harness drawings, design manual content, and operation and troubleshooting guides.
  • Designs, troubleshoots, and assists in the installation of electrical controls for new and existing equipment. Develops, troubleshoots, and installs control programs for PLC’s for new or existing equipment.
  • Designs and integrates automation and control systems for a broad range of electrical systems, equipment, and processes. Is responsible for the hands-on implementation of the controls systems.
  • Supports and manages the transition from design into production, including any testing and training required for implementing new or changed designs.
  • Analyzes issues/data using root cause analysis, identifies opportunities, and designs equipment, processes, and layouts to improve product quality, increase capacity, reduce safety risks, and deliver to best meet customer needs.
  • Improves manufacturing processes by designing and modifying electrical equipment and components.
  • Plans, designs, manages and executes engineering solutions that meet all safety, quality, financial, cGMP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Works with other departments to develop and/or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), process documentation and training materials to support new or modified processes and equipment. Assists with training employees in new and modified processes and equipment.
  • Uses metrics, lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methods to problem solve and identify inefficiencies and solutions within manufacturing and other operational areas.
