Provide leadership for the category team and across the company to ensure that the various functions supporting the business have accountability for all important metrics such as unit growth, sales growth, inventory turns, in-stock rates, customer satisfaction, and contribution profitability.
Drive periodic innovation aimed at improving customer experience and strengthening vendor relationships.
Provide local input to defining the customer experience and represent that to senior executives, vendors and third party merchants, as well as the category team.
Translate category metrics into actionable plans as determined by different inputs which drive category performance.
Create sustainable process improvements which drive year-over-year progress in the category.
Identify new approaches for improving selection and category awareness to better manage the performance of the category over the long run.
Focus on talent management, which includes effectively recruiting and developing the best, and creating an environment which motivates people to thrive in their expertise and deliver aggressive results.
