Main Purpose of Job

STEERS AND SUPPORTS THE ACTVATION OF THE CUSTOMER CATEGORY STRATEGIC PLAN - A primary responsibility of this position is the development of Strategic Category plans in collaboration with the customer and internal insights and research resources. Additionally, this position operates as a coach and mentor to Category Account Associates and knows how to utilize and leverage technology that will enable efficient modular processes. Tasked with developing the skillset of Category Account Associates and providing day to day guidance to their category team members. Activates category strategies by leveraging the tools, insights, and analytics from CCSD, Enable Hub, and retailer-specific data. Applies a strong focus on category assortment and merchandising to drive category growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key ownership in developing learning plans and collaboration internally with insights resources to build actionable insights and strategic initiatives for the customer
  • Develop, have ownership of, and execute a customer aligned modular strategy
  • Drive automated modular processes with technology resources and cultivate advanced analytics for customer
  • Interface with Acosta POG services team to request and manage development of modulars

Key Experiences

  • Bachelor\u2019s Degree preferred
  • Professional experience outside of Category Management for a broader perspective is a plus
  • Expectation is to move through several manager level roles to strengthen business experience (CAA, CAM, Enable Hub, and NRS managers or like position)
  • Prior people leadership experience a plus
  • Strong technical skills in the area of database management and information technology
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Advanced analytics, problem solving and statistical modeling skills
  • Analyst experience with Nielsen/IRI and syndicated data to help create sales stories and understand the customer
  • Understanding Consumer Packaged Goods Companies Strategies Versus Private Label
  • Ability to \"Develop Category Growth\" stories that identify Category Opportunity Gaps

Technical Skills

  • Excel, PowerPoint, exposure to Power BI or similar
  • Shiloh, or other similar RL database type tool
  • The following are skills that are a plus if the candidate possesses or has had exposure:
    • Power BI Power Query or Alteryx
    • CKB, POG Generator, JDA
    • VBA, SQL or other coding languages
    • Nielsen/IRI
    • Numerator
    • 8451
    • APT
  • A technical degree in lieu of the above skills\u2014a computer science or engineering major
