The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has unleashed new Nutrition label guidelines to improve the overall health of consumers beginning July 26, 2018 for companies with $10 million or more in sales and July 26, 2019 for all others. The guidelines include changes made to the listed nutrients, serving sizes and the design of the nutrition label. Specifically, a new section will be added complete with the total number of grams of added sugars and their daily value percentage.
