Management of the product range and marketing activities for the two product categories Bakery Mixes & Flavors within SBU Bakery for Puratos USA. Full accountability for the achievement of the annual budget (GM$) within the scope of the long-range plan. Build product category strategies using a strong marketing approach, while providing the necessary support to the commercial & technical teams to grow the category.

  • Business accountability for the product categories:
    • Setting annual sales budget for Bakery Mixes & Flavors in collaboration with the sales team, and continuously follow up of category sales performance - ready to take corrective actions where necessary to hit budget.
    • Monthly reporting of sales for the category, GM and lbs performance by product category, key initiative and sales channel top winners/losers/risk accounts analysis.
  • Build a long term product strategy and innovation pipeline for Bakery Mixes & Flavors in close collaboration with the commercial, R&D and head-office teams
    • Drive our focused Top Priority & Key Product initiatives each year, while test-marketing new products/concepts using the Stage & Gate process (building 3 year plans).
  • Manage the product portfolio range in line with SBU strategy:
    • Manage innovation & renovation (with R&D) including continuous range optimization and SKU management in line with customer needs and market opportunities.
    • Recommend pricing strategy in line with companies pricing strategy and in collaboration with Pricing Manager.
    • Manage the internal and external communication of the product categories, working alongside our Marketing Communications team to correctly position and grow them in the marketplace, by channel.
      • Develop efficient communication tools to help position Puratos as the leaders in bread improvement, supporting our commercial teams to explain our solutions in a comprehensive way, relevant to each individual customer need.
  • Build up and develop solid Market intelligence by collecting, structuring and communicating relevant market insight s related to bakery.
  • Consumer habits, behaviors and needs.
  • Customer needs including insights gained from studies carried out with our Market Insights Team.

  • New trends on their way, including adoption of relevant trends from other markets.
  • Support business development:
    • Responsibility for any Business Development Teams set up to support the Bakery Mixes & Flavors product categories, developing strategies to accelerate sales growth.
    • Support sales team with customer visits (preparation, presentation, follow up)
  • Work closely with the local production team to align a production strategy with the BU to sustain the growth plan.
  • Manage the marketing budgets for Bakery Mixes & Flavors setting proposed budget, signing off on invoices and keeping track of expenditure versus allocated budget for the year.
  • Be an active member of the Marketing Team:
    • Working on cross SBU projects, and be part of commercial/R&D task force teams to deliver results for focused initiatives.
    • Assist in internal marketing activities, such as seminars, customer events/demo s and presentations.
  • Participate to the headquarters and international marketing community, through specific projects & exchange of ideas and best-practices with other marketing colleagues around the world.

  • Marketing or Business further education qualification to degree or Masters Level.
  • Functional skills:
    • Ability to analyze and assess sales numbers interpret and report strengths & weaknesses by product/sales channel.
    • Good marketing knowledge (theoretical & practical): up to date with the latest developments in the field of marketing.
    • At least 3-4 years practical experience as product/brand/marketing manager. Experience in product launches (market research, media ), and product management (preferably in a bakery company, for sure a food company).
    • Project management: planning, organization, timing, budget. Able to drive projects autonomously with great enthusiasm & passion. Use of the US Stage & Gate tool for key projects, managing the flow of the project through the gates.

Languages: English. Spanish also a preference.
