The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for defining the platforms go-to-market strategy, driving consumer and customer based innovation and delivering the platforms financial objectives  top and bottom line " Lead marketing and insights teams to drive sustainable top-line growth " Responsible for leading the execution of business and customer initiatives through partnership with Sales, R&D, Finance, Operations, and other cross-functional partners

Essential Duties and Responsibilities\:

  • Define the platforms go-to-market strategy and align senior leadership to the vision and objectives
  • Lead the strategic planning process and support the annual operating plan development
  • Develop category and customer segmentation
  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Deliver platform revenue and gross margin targets, including gap solving when necessary
  • Leading financial analysis to communicate business drivers and inform decision making
  • Understand consumer and customer trends across retail and food service; emphasis on organic/natural space
  • Develop the strategy for retail and food service channels to maximize revenue and gross margins
  • Develop consumer and category insights leading to innovation, product renovation and category management
  • Lead the development of control brand strategy to drive distribution through key channels
  • Anticipate future business needs and gain alignment with senior leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Responsible for go-to-market execution; partnering with Customer Marketing, R&D, Finance, Sales, Operations and other cross-functional teams to deliver internal and external expectations
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market
  • Plan new product launches and manage the cross-functional implementation
  • Responsible for effectively forecasting and working with demand and supply planning through the S&OP process
  • Prioritize product/customer requirements with Sales, R&D and Operations
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for the product
  • Coach and develop team and cross-functional partners to retain and develop talent

  • Minimum of 10- 15 years of Marketing and Product Management combined experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and for a major CPG food company

  • Strong Financial Acumen with a proven track record of delivering revenue and profit growth

  • Knowledge and experience in organic and natural foods, a plus
  • Strong project management skills
  • Solid understanding of Food and Manufacturing
  • Experienced with pulling data and reports from financial and sales reporting systems and creating analyses
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and analytical skills
  • Strong initiative and a strong desire to achieve results
  • Consumer-centric thinker  superior understanding of Sales and Consumer Insights
  • Strong Leadership Potential  critical that the candidate can assume additional responsibilities in the future which may include assignment scope expansion and promotion within the organization
  • Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving Considers various points of data and points of view collected from others and considers both short and long-term impact of actions
  • Understanding of the role Private Brands plays with customers and consumers
  • Management Skills  demonstrable experience rallying a team behind initiatives and ensuring that all details are diligently managed from ideation to commercialization
  • Adaptability & Flexibility  Can change plans in the moment and make tactical adjustments appropriately
  • Strong sense of urgency and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Remains calm and confident even in stressful situations
  • Up to 25% travel required


Bachelor&##39;s degree in Marketing or Business; MBA or Masters Degree preferred


  • Fifteen plus years of Product Management and Marketing Management experience, preferably for a major CPG food company within the US selling to the leading food retailers and food service customers
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience within the marketing field in the consumer packaged goods and/or a related industry (grocery, foodservice, food/ingredients manufacturing, food/ingredients distribution)

Travel Requirements:

25% plus travel required

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Approximately 90%%0A of work is performed in an office environment and 10% outside of office in a manufacturing setting.
